Breaking News: Researchers discovered a new gene which is now known to be the cause of rare familial forms of MND/ALS. Going forward the identification of Chromosome 9p21- which we now know is linked to ALS-FTD forms of ALS will have a significant impact on our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying typical ALS.
